Cuts to size very easily, the grid pattern on the "up" side is quite uniform so makes trimming precisely quite easy. I cut to size with just regular scissors. Lays down easily, no curling. Appears to grip the carpet and floor well - no shifting or slipping. Feels very good under foot, better than that composite foam stuff. Time will tell if it tends to sort of expand (and show) as the foam stuff does, but I suspect not due to what appears to be a mesh manufactured into the waterproof layer. Thus far I have only used under a relatively small area rug (4'x6') but will use under an 8'x11' in the adjacent room within a week, and this roll will still probably have enough left for another area rug.
